As proponents of “Think globally, act locally!” we have decided that one of the best ways we can help our community is to aid in producing personal protective equipment (PPE) for local medical professionals who are also our friends, relatives and neighbors.  Our experience with computer aided design and 3D printing is well suited to help produce certain types of medical equipment, such as face shields.

The response within the maker community has been overwhelmingly positive with individuals and companies around the world rushing to produce PPE equipment designs that can be shared globally to allow anyone with a 3D printer to help bridge the gap in medical supplies. We have opted to focus on face shields using a design created by a 3D printer company based in Prague, Czech Republic, called Prusa. Within a very short amount of time, this design has gone through multiple versions, has been tested in hospitals and clinics by medical professionals, and has been confirmed to be a good substitute if professionally manufactured face shields are not available.

Although this new project is taking a lot of our time, we are still working to produce our handcrafted Beautiful Adventure jewelry pieces.  After all, making beautiful things is one of our favorite things to do!  For the present time, however, our priority is to support our friends, neighbors, and local professionals, so we hope you understand that it will take us longer than normal to produce pieces for you.  Please don’t let that deter you from ordering, though.  As a locally owned small business, we are experiencing the same impact as other small businesses.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Feel free to comment or drop us a line and tell us how you are finding ways to create adventures for yourselves during these challenging times.  Let’s work together to lift each other up and find new ways to connect while social distancing so we can all continue to feed our adventurous souls.

Sending you lots of love during this new way of socially distanced living!
